Established in the year 1986, the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge was founded and developed under the able guidance of eminent and illustrious academicians and clinicians in the field. This speciality offers rehabilitation of clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or contiguous maxillofacial tissues. Apart from conventional treatment modalities like fixed and removable prostheses, it also deals with specialized treatment procedures like implant supported prostheses, restoration of defects of the face and neck with maxillofacial reconstructive prostheses, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders and the fabrication of adjunct prostheses like radiation protection stents. Equipped with an advanced implant clinic, geriatric clinic,a state of the art ceramic casting lab and etched with the advantage of excellent patient inflow, the department not onlyprovides comprehensive and specialised oral health care across all socio economic groups but also emphasizes on creating an ideal platform for learning for the students.Dental education programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are designed and executed under the guidance of our accomplished and experienced faculty to impart advanced knowledge, enabling students to exercise their critical, analytical, problem solving skills and hone their practical and clinical skills.The Department organizes Professional Enrichment programs, workshops and conducts research activities in order to keep the faculty as well as students abreast with the latest advancements and innovations in Prosthodontics and Implantology.
