Department Of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry is a special branch of dentistry that provides both primary and comprehensive oral health care for infants and children from birth to 14 years and includes those with special health care needs.

The department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry of M. R. Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital was established in the year of 1997 and is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Since its inception this department has endeavoured to impart knowledge and clinical skills to students in the area of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. It includes didactic interaction & exposure to all kinds of real-life clinical situations & is based on evidence-based information and utilizes problem-based learning amongst others.

The undergraduate and postgraduate students are exposed to the dental issues faced by children and adolescents and they get an opportunity to educate them and provide complete treatment of primary and permanent teeth as well as management of harmful oral habits, full mouth rehabilitation, procedures under general anaesthesia and chair side conscious sedation for the dental care of children and also to those with Special Health Care needs.
