Dr. Pramila is a dedicated professor and the Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry at M.R. Ambedkar Dental College, with an illustrious career spanning 26 years. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the prestigious Government Dental College, Bangalore, and later pursued her Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) from the same institution, specializing in Public Health Dentistry. She has served the institution in various capacity from senior lecturer to the post of Principal. Dr. Pramila also holds a certificate in Essential Pallative care Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. She has completed Foundation Course in Educational Methodology by RAATI LMS and also completed Govt. Certificate Course on NABH Accreditation.
She been an academic council member in RGUHS, treasurer in Indian association Of Public Health Dentistry, and was also an editor in Indian Public health Dentistry, to her credit she has national and international publications. she has been an DCI and LIC inspector to various dental colleges in the country. she been Duly qualified and elected as a fellow at International honour dental organization at pierre Fauchard academy.
Her areas of interest are Hospital Health and Administration, Health Care Delivery Systems, School Health Programmes, Health Care for differently abled Children and Rural health programmes.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pramila has been a cornerstone of the department, recognized for her extensive knowledge and unwavering commitment to enhancing community oral health. She has made significant contributions to research and education, focusing on preventive dentistry and integrating public health strategies to address dental issues on a larger scale. Her dedication to patient care, particularly in outreach programs for underserved populations. Dr. Pramila plays a vital role in community outreach, organizing dental camps and awareness programs for rural communities.
Her leadership and experience have made her an invaluable mentor to students. Under her guidance, all MDS students have consistently secured university ranks, ranging from 2nd to 10th place. Students benefit greatly from her practical insights and deep passion for public health.
