The vision is to be a center of excellence in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry by advancing child oral health through innovative research, compassionate care and education. The mission is to provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, emphasize preventive strategies, foster academic excellence and conduct research to improve oral health outcomes in children.

Aim and Objective

The department aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive oral healthcare for children, emphasizing prevention and early intervention. The objective is to train pediatric dental professionals who will contribute to evidence-based clinical practice, promote preventive dentistry and deliver quality oral healthcare to children, including those with special needs and underserved communities.

History of BDS and MDS Curriculum

The BDS program in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at M.R. Ambedkar Dental College provides a comprehensive curriculum that blends clinical pediatric care with preventive strategies and community outreach. The MDS program offers specialized training in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, focusing on advanced clinical techniques, research, behavior management, and policy development. Over the years, both programs have evolved to address emerging challenges in pediatric oral health.

CDE PROGRAMS

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry successfully hosted the Specialty International Preconference Workshop as part of the 45th ISPPD Annual National Conference. The workshop was conducted on 25th September 2024, at M R Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital. It featured insightful sessions on Bioceramic in Pediatric Dentistry and Zirconia Crowns in Pediatric Dentistry. Renowned experts Dr. Abhinav L Talekar and Dr. Sankalp Taparia led the sessions, sharing their expertise and hands-on knowledge with attendees.
